Economics explains almost everything

The first question is:
Why are males bigger than females in most vertebrate species?

It's quite easy to explain this in economics way because almost every vertebrate is having a battle to access females. The body mass helps them in the fight because it's obvious that the heavier male is the easier it is for him to win. Small males seldom gain access to female that is why the genetic code is passed mainly by big animal specimens.
